ROTC Programs

Reserve Officer Training Corps

DBU offers two ROTC programs to students: Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC.

DBU's cross-town partnership with UTA's Maverick Battalion (Army) and TCU's Detachment 845 (Air Force) provides DBU cadets the ability to attend a Christ-Centered institution while also pursuing their aspirations as an officer in the Army or Air Force. While at DBU cadets take all degree specific courses at DBU and graduate with a DBU degree (See DBU's Degree Offerings). Cadet's MILS (Army) or AEST (Air Force) courses are held at UTA or TCU, respectively.

DBU ROTC cadets receive custom DBU ROTC gear, priority access to the fitness center, access to Athletic's strength and conditioning tracking platform, and support from our Athletic's Sports Medicine staff in the event of any significant injuries. DBU aims to provide unwavering support to our cadets as they pursue their degree and commissioning.

Once a cadet is admitted into the Maverick Battalion or TCU Detachment 845, they will receive a $2,000 annual ROTC scholarship. If a cadet receives a national-level Scholarship from the Army or Air Force (3-4 years of federal aid), DBU will provide a scholarship to cover 9 months of their on-campus housing expenses.

There is no long-term commitment required when cadets first join the program. Cadets can try out the program for a year and still gain useful experience.

The DBU ROTC Program has a tradition of excellence. Our program at DBU will equip the cadets with invaluable leadership skills that they will carry with them long after graduation. A few of the post-graduation benefits include:

  • Leadership and Career Progression
  • Excellent Pay and Benefits
  • Tax-Free Housing Allowance
  • Travel Opportunities
  • Advanced Schooling Certifications

If you have any questions, please reach out to DBU's ROTC Administrator, Dr. Ryon Phillips, or DBU's ROTC Coordinator, Cooper Patch.
